What Are the Depression symptoms in children and teens

Here we are going to know about some depression symptoms in children and teens. This article is not to scare you off . this article is because - there is a  relation between Depression and Low Self esteem .   The people who have low self esteem, has a possibility  to go through depression also. You can know more about that in my other the article- depression and low self esteem relation . Besides that, most of the time, the adults are more capable to help them (children and teens) out from any kind of physical or mental trouble (if they have any).

So,  it is better to know the depression symptoms in children and teens-

Symptoms of depressions are-

For children and teens,  common symptoms of depression can be a little different from adult’s symptoms.

  • In younger children, symptoms of depression may include sadness, irritability, hopelessness and worry.
  • Symptoms in adolescents and teens may include anxiety, anger and avoidance of social interaction.
  • Changes in thinking and sleep are common signs of depression in adolescents and adults, but are not as common in younger children.
  • In children and teens, depression often occurs along with behavior problems and other mental health conditions, such as anxiety or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
